小さなビルの2階。
扉を開けると、黙々と調理しているオープンキッチン周りを、L字カウンターが囲む店舗構成。
どうやら、店内は沈黙が支配しているようだ。
キッチンから見れば、ズラッと並ぶ客席の視線など、たぶん外野のようではないだろうか。
第一印象は無愛想な店だが、こちらが求めているものを分かってくれているように、いつの間にか目前にメニューが置かれる。
目当ての、ブナカレーがある。
ホルモンを使うブナカレーは稀に見かけるのだが、この店のものは、メインに鳥レバーや砂肝を使うようで珍しい。
併せてライタ（ヨーグルトサラダ）をオーダー。
ブナは、炒める、という意味のようだ。
カレーソースというより、スパイスで内臓を煮炒めした、ゴロッとした塊のドライカレーなのだが、解すと濃厚なぺースト状に変化する。
若干の苦味があって、どこか無愛想なカレーだが、酸味のあるライタとの相性もとてもよく、夢中になって食べ進める。
相変わらず、カウンターの面々は静かだ。
斜向かいの大学生らしきカップルは、店内に入った時は、キャキャ言っていたのに、食べ始めると、一心不乱に黙々している。
隣に座るインバウンドらしき若いカップルも、会話も一緒に飲み込むように、無言のまま、俯いてカレーを掻きこんでいる。
美味いものを食べるのに、言葉なんていらないのか。
そして私も、黙々と完食。
感嘆の溜息だけついて、木曜日の店内はまた、寡黙な時間が過ぎゆく。
