I felt warm and fuzzy (^^) I visited Yakitori no Hachiman, located in Meieki 4-chome, Nakamura-ku, Nagoya. The restaurant has a aged and charming exterior♪ It's surrounded by chain stores in an alleyway, and it's the only restaurant that looks like it's been transported back in time♪ It doesn't feel like it's near Nagoya Station at all (^^) I've been curious about it for a while, so I popped in♪ The interior is also very chic and full of Showa-era vibes! There's a TV on, which is nice♪ It's a yakitori restaurant, but there's no counter, and it's a small restaurant with about three tables (^^) I was surprised to hear that it was founded 80 years ago! That's amazing!! It seems to be run by an elderly mother and her son♪ First of all, we toasted with beer! I'm grateful that they accompanied me to this interesting restaurant (^^) There was a row of delicious looking obanzai dishes on the counter! I want to try them all! We decided to have a few dishes ♪ Beans, burdock and lotus root ♪ All had simple flavours that warmed our hearts (^^) Next we had a bottle of Yebisu beer ♪ We had the yakitori we were served with selection of what they had ♪ Well-grilled negima ♪ Stick-shaped meatballs ♪ The miso sauce was delicious (^^) The skin was full of fat ♪ All the skewers had large portions so it felt like a good deal (^^) We had a really warm and relaxing time ♪ Being in this restaurant made me feel like I was near Nagoya Station and had forgotten about the time period (^^) I really liked the atmosphere of the frank and fun son and the characterful mother ♪ The change was 20 yen, but the playful son said, "Your change is 20 million yen~♪" (^^) "Yay! We made a profit♪" It was so funny and I was so happy (^^) I'll come again~♪ I hope your mother stays healthy forever (^^) It seems your mother has some problems with her legs, so I hope someone kind enough to go and collect the beer and food from over the counter goes there (^^) Thank you for the meal!
