名古屋の常宿は「名古屋東急ホテル」だったのですが、少し前にちょっと嫌な思いをしたのでヒルトンに乗り換えます。
名駅と栄の間のビジネス街に位置し、高いビルの少ない名古屋においては相当に目立つ建物です。
入ってすぐのロビー。460室という巨大ホテルであるため、直営のレストランや宴会場ひいては結婚式場なども充実しています。
この日は「デラックスルーム」にご案内頂けました。広さは30平米で動線も良く、ゆったりと過ごすことができます。
ベッドもしっとりとした硬さであり私好み。ボタン一発でブワっと色々操作できるのが便利です。
窓からは名古屋市街を一望。どことなく和風なニュアンスがあり、カーテンではなく障子と襖というのが斬新。
コンセントやHDMI端子の位置も良く、変な表現ですがイラっとすることが一切ない機能的な仕様です。
お水やティーバッグが用意されているのはもちろんのこと、ネスプレッソまであるのが嬉しいですね。グラスやカップもしっかりとしたものであり、1泊2万円を切るホテルとしては高品質です。
回線速度はやや遅め。web会議はギリこなせるといったレベルであり、大容量の何かをしたい人には厳しいかもしれません。
クローゼットは広くはありませんが、もうひとつデカい棚があり荷物をジャーンと広げるスペースもあるので長期滞在にも耐えられそうです。
ウェットエリアはズッシリとした印象。かなり古い建物のはずですが上手くメンテナンスできているようです。ただ、洗面台とトイレ、バスタブが一体化しているのは残念ポイントですね。複数人で泊まる際はちょっとアレかもしれません。
共用設備に参りましょう。プールは長さ15メートルのミニチュアサイズ。監視員が居らずマナーを守らない親子などがいても取り締まってくれません。今回の滞在で唯一腹が立ったシーンです。
私は利用しませんでしたがフィットネスセンターが充実しています。いわゆる会員制の高級フィットネスクラブを宿泊客にも開放している仕組みであり、名古屋財界の大御所たちがゴルフ談義に花を咲かせています。テニスコートまであるって凄い。
朝食は1階ロビーフロアにあるレストランで頂きます。屋根がドーンと高く非常に開放的。客席数も死ぬほど多く、またコンセプト的に子連れ客が少ないため、たいへん快適に過ごすことができました。
朝食ビュッフェのラインナップは一般的なシティホテルのそれに加え名古屋めしコーナーもあり、朝っぱらから手羽先・きしめん・味噌カツといった三種の神器まで用意されています。当館の料飲部長はシャレのわかる人なのかもしれません。
素敵なホテルでした。「名古屋東急ホテル」のような日本的ウェットな雰囲気はなく、外資系らしくフランクでドライな接客も私好み。全ての設備が機能的でありストレスを感じることが殆どありませんでした。
最寄り駅は伏見で繁華街からは少し離れるのですが、静かに過ごすことができるという意味では丁度良い立地なのかもしれません。名古屋東急ホテルさんサヨウナラ、ヒルトン名古屋さんこれからもどうぞよろしく。
