It seems to mean that. Apparently, the name came about because when he worked with Mr. Bourgeois in France, he heard the word mas, and because his wife seems to like lavender. Chef Nishino, the husband, trained at several Restaurants including "Le Vieux Logis", which was awarded one star in the French version of the Michelin Guide, and then became the chef Elisabeth Bourgeois at "Le Mas Tourteron" in Provence, France. Apparently, he worked as a sous chef for 7 years. His wife is a former pastry chef.
