I had some business in Osu in the afternoon and visited Nagoya for the first time in a while. I visited this restaurant, Xi'an knife-cut noodle, which is located right next to the restaurant I was planning to visit. The entrance is narrow, but the inside is spacious.I entered the store at 11:30, just as it opened, so I was the only one there. There were no counter seats, only a raised table and a revolving table seating for 6 people. A woman in charge of the hall who spoke broken Japanese guided me to a seat at a revolving table. After this, one person who appeared to be a regular came in and took a seat at the revolving table without permission, so it seemed to be the rule of this restaurant. The menu is very diverse and I'm having a hard time deciding what to choose, but MY Rebi Serpio-san recommends the set of knife-cut noodle and rice for weekday lunch, which is the same menu as MY Rebi-san, Mala knife-cut noodle + Tenshin rice with dessert. I ordered 850 yen. Even on weekdays, the restaurant seemed to be popular, with customers arriving one after another while waiting for their food, and half of the seats in the restaurant were occupied. About 5 minutes after ordering, the black bowl of spicy knife-cut noodle and Tenshin rice were served. The Mala knife-cut noodle had a brown soup with fried minced meat underneath the chives on top. The soup didn't taste very spicy, but the spiciness came after the umami, and the stir-fried minced meat had no flavor, so the soup seemed to determine the flavor. The noodles had a smooth texture that I've never had anywhere before, but they also had a chewy texture, and the uneven noodles lifted the spicy soup in a nice way and went well with the soup. The Tenshin rice was also delicious with fluffy eggs on top of the rice and the soup filling on top. After eating half of it with the default taste, I added homemade chili oil recommended by MY Levy to the noodles and Tenshin rice to make it taste better and it was delicious. Just as I was finishing my meal, a female waiter came to ask if I wanted coffee or almond tofu. My mouth was buzzing, so I asked for a cold apricot kernel to cool it down. Now, 850 yen was a delicious Chinese lunch with high CP.It was a bit cold outside, but it was piping hot. It was a shop I would like to visit again if I have a chance to try Tsurumochi's knife-cut noodle. Thank you for the meal.
