Featured on TV ☆ Enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food in Osu * Savor the delicious flavors in a cafe space filled with greenery!
We want to connect with Japan through authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine! Ceylon Cafe and Bar was born from that idea. We serve authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine in a stylish cafe space. Spicy Sri Lankan Cuisine |
I went to this place near Osu Kannon Station, which I had been interested in for a while. The inside of the restaurant was larger than I expected. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who spoke polite Japanese. I ordered: ⭐︎Ayurvedic One Plate Daily Curry Weekdays only 1300 yen tax included 100% Organic Food spices Salad + drink included salad + drink included For 200 yen, you can drink lassi or chai. There were various flavors of spice curry and side dishes? Salad, A fried egg with a runny yolk and crispy white around it Seasoned saffron rice (which was delicious on its own) surrounded by mizuna, bitter melon, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms, dal curry, pork curry It was lighter than Nepalese and Indian curries and not very spicy? I tasted each one and mixed them together at the end, and they were delicious! I personally like bitter melon, and it was quite bitter. I was told that Sri Lankan curry uses Maldives Fish, which is like Japanese dried bonito flakes. I wondered if that was what it was made with. That's why it was flavorful and easy to eat until the end! It was a light and not greasy curry. It was delicious! I might recommend it to people who don't like Indian Curry. *What is Maldives Fish? It is a type of dried bonito flakes produced in the Maldives, an island nation in the Indian Ocean about 750 kilometers southwest of Sri Lanka. Raw bonito is boiled in salt water to make the same thing as Japanese raw bonito flakes, which are then smoked and dried in the sun for several days to make Maldives Fish, which is the same as Japanese arabushi. In Japan, the technique of making karebushi, which involves applying mold to arabushi, was established during the Edo period, but mold is not applied to making Maldives Fish. Although it is not as hard as karebushi, which is said to be the hardest food in the world, it is hard enough to bite through and has the same deliciousness and flavor as Japanese karebushi. My friend likes spicy food, so he chose it based on the name alone lol ⭐︎CHICKEN DEVEL RICE⭐︎ They also have beef. Salad + drink + dessert included 1500 yen tax included Apparently they could make it spicy if you asked, but I didn't say anything, so they came with a slightly spicy stir-fried ketchup and saffron rice. The chicken was quite firm, and I think it was deep-fried. It was stir-fried with onions and tomatoes. The dessert tasted similar to the old-fashioned yogurt, and it was delicious with something like honey. The drinks were light in taste, especially the iced tea. I wonder if I should have gotten it instead of free? When we left, the two of them greeted us with a smile and were very pleasant to deal with. The atmosphere was different from what you see on the website, but they were nice people! Thank you for the meal. I heard they've opened a new one in Gifu, so I'd like to go there again to eat curry. 1 minute walk from Osu Kannon Station 9 minutes walk from Fushimi Station 134m from Osu Kannon Station ⭐︎Cards accepted⭐︎ (VISA, Master, JCB, AMEX, Diners) ⭐︎Electronic money accepted⭐︎ (Transportation electronic money (Suica, etc.), Rakuten Edy, nanaco, WAON, iD.
