この度は久々に再会する友人からとの子連れランチでお邪魔した。件の友人の誕生日に程近かったので、予約時にサプライズ用のバースデープレートをお願いしておいた次第。
予め食べ放題を付けようとしていたので、今回は異なるボルケーノ(ジェノベーゼ、カルボナーラ)を単品オーダーして、お互い取り分けて2色楽しませてもらった。子ども達はボルケーノは勿論こと、食べ放題ブッフェの様々あるチーズクリームやマーブルパンをシェアできたので有り難かった。
ブッフェとあるとついついたかが外れて取り過ぎてしまうのは玉に瑕だが、食べ残しは厳禁！なお、当方は食べ残しすると超過料金が科されるとのことで説明があったが、もともと取ったものを残すという選択肢は自身にはない。
いろいろなテイストのクリームチーズが美味しく、それらのクラッカーのせにハマり過ぎた。1人で10枚分は下らない程に食べ続けた。無制限だと食べ続けてしまう恐れがあるので、もはや90分制なのが逆にありがたくもあった程だ。友人もまたサプライズプレートもろとも大変に喜んでくれて何よりだった。
「年を重ねても、お祝いされるのは嬉しい」
笑いかけてくれた友人の顔が印象的だった。笑い合って時間を共にできる尊さは、やはり生きていてこそだと感じられる。また笑って痴話に花を咲かせたいものだ。
