高級住宅街のセントラルガーデン内の一角に店を構える当方へマイペースな知人と訪れた。周辺は、某有名イタリアンや懐石料理を提供する予約困難とされる有名店が軒を連ねる。故に、ディナータイムは個人的には敷居が高くてなかなか1人では入店が憚られるのだが、今回ご縁が頂けて本当に有難くもあり嬉しいところだ。
それはさておき、奇跡的にすんなりと入店が叶いテーブル席へと案内された。窓際からは、石庭を思わせるライトアップされた中庭が拝めていとをかし。
まずはファーストドリンクに梅酒ロックをオーダーして、久々の集いに乾杯。店員よりメニューの説明をされ、自身は「中黄金鰻重」をお願いした。何でも、20匹に1の割合で獲れる希少な設楽町産のアオテウナギを使用したこだわりの製法で仕上げられているとの事。前書からして、すでに期待が高まる。
待つ事15分強で到着。漆器塗りのお重に敷き詰められた白米に照りの良い香ばしい蒲焼きと、厚手のだし巻き卵焼きのコントラストがまた食欲をそそる。また、付け合わせの浅漬けは自然な味わいが箸休めにうってつけであり、お麩が浮かび三つ葉と舞茸が躍る吸い物も鰻との相性が抜群に良い。
食後のデザートに、名古屋コーチンのプリンまでサービスして頂き大満足で店を後にした。
