21 types of curry and fluffy, chewy naan ☆ In addition to the tandoori menu, we also offer a wide variety of authentic Nepalese dishes. It's just a 3-minute walk from Chayagasaka Station! It's very ac |
I had a craving for curry, so I popped into an Indian/ Nepalese Cuisine called "Upahar", which is a 3-minute walk from Chayagasaka Station. Lunch menus range from 750 yen to 1,500 yen. I ordered the 1,000 yen set with chicken tikka. I chose rice or naan, of course, and ordered 4th level of spiciness, which is one level above 3rd level of medium, and lassi for my drink. First, salad, chicken soup, and lassi were served. (They will give you a drink after the meal if you ask.) The soup has a strong chicken stock, and the lassi is thick and rich, which is nice. The two main curries were vegetables and chicken. The vegetables included green beans, cauliflower, and pumpkin. The chicken curry also had about four chunks of stewed chicken. Both were served with shredded ginger. I can handle the spiciness quite well, but even the 4th level was quite spicy. I was sweating heavily in the first half, which was helped by the lassi, but I guess I got used to it halfway through and started eating normally. The chicken tikka was also delicious with a good amount of flavor. The mango pudding that came out as dessert after the meal also had a good amount of mango puree in it and was delicious. I've had two bad experiences at Indian curry restaurants in a row, so I've been staying away from them lately, but I think I'll start eating curry again. Thinking about it makes me want to eat cheese naan. Thank you for the meal.
