I had a great experience in Toyota City. I had the opportunity to have lunch at Aoi Restaurant, which opened in November near Toyota City Hall. Chef Tsujimura of this restaurant is quite famous in French cuisine world, so I was looking forward to visiting him. There is an open kitchen with a wood-burning grill, a counter made of plain wood, a table with two seats, and a private room. The interior is decorated with a lot of attention to detail, allowing you to watch the chef work. Since it was lunch time, I refrained from drinking alcohol, but there seemed to be plenty of wine as well. It was a ¥6,800 course, but the amuse looks fun and gets you excited. The soup, appetizer, fish dish (kueh), and meat (Amagi Kurobuta) all have distinct textures and flavors, while the aromas and aftertaste blend seamlessly and nicely. You can feel the work put into every detail, not just the ingredients. Also, the fish is delicious. Enjoy the quintessentially French cuisine atmosphere where you can convey your work clearly while also having a sense of fun. The dessert with tonka beans, chestnuts, and cassis was equally good. The main course of the higher course I received this time was also a fish dish, which made me very curious. I'm not a gourmet who knows many Restaurants, but I think this level of perfection is rare! It was such a wonderful experience that I have to say. Thank you for the meal.
