５月上旬の祝日モーニング。
妻と豊橋市の『マスカ』を訪問する。
いまや全国的に広まったモーニングサービス。
モーニングサービス発祥の地には諸説ある。
有力な説は愛知県一宮市。
機織りが主力産業であった一宮市。
機織り機械の音がうるさく会社で商談できなかったため、喫茶店で商談していた。
午前中の商談で小腹が減った際にトーストを出してもらったのがモーニングサービスの始まりという説。
もうひとつの説は豊橋市。
大学時代を豊橋市で過ごした私であるが、なるほど喫茶店が多かった印象である。
暇さえあれば喫茶店で珈琲を飲んでいた。
今回、宿泊した『ニュー東洋ホテル』を素泊まりで予約したため豊橋駅近くのこちらへモーニングサービスを食べに行く。
午前７時から開店。
午前８時くらいに訪問すると、先客は１組。
珈琲（¥400）とモーニングサービス（¥0）を注文する。
珈琲はやや酸味が勝ったブレンド。
朝飲むには良さそうなブレンド。
それにしても朝飲む珈琲は、つくづく美味い。
モーニングサービスは、トースト、ジャム、サラダ、目玉焼き。
ゆで玉子でなかったのが個性的である。
豊橋駅から歩いて３分ほど。
便利な立地である。
