I stopped by when my wife and I went to Toyohashi over the holidays. ``Hinomaruya'' is something I've always been curious about. This is a restaurant specializing in whale cuisine. I think it's a popular restaurant with many regular customers, so I recommend making a reservation before going! We were seated at the counter, but there seemed to be seats on the second floor besides the counter, so several groups were guided to the second floor. First, I ordered a beer and had... ★3 types of whale sashimi ★Obanzai's pork cartilage stew in spicy miso ★Whale yukke I was thinking that I haven't eaten much whale lately, but as I was waiting, a gorgeous sashimi platter arrived. Assortment of 3 types: lean meat, real skin, and heart. I was told to try the heart with salt and sesame oil.This heart had a unique texture and was delicious.I wanted to eat more! Whale has a unique aroma, but even those who don't like sashimi will definitely find it easy to eat. I used to get whale sashimi every week at my parents' house, so I can tell how fresh it is. Whale yukhoe is also very delicious. This also goes well with Japanese sake... Obanzai is a flat rate of 420 yen including tax, but I was surprised at how filling it was and how delicious it was. Even if you don't like whales, you can enjoy Obanzai. There were a lot of regulars, and the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.
