これまで立ち寄り湯としてのみ利用してきた蔦温泉旅館に初宿泊。
山荘並みと思っていた館内は思いのほか豪華。ベッドルーム付きの部屋は二人には広すぎる。
磨き上げられたチリひとつない廊下が、この旅館の矜持を物語る。
夕食は先付、椀物、お造りから始まり、食事から水菓子までひととおり、料亭と違わぬラインナップ。
おみそれしました。
白眉は金木産馬刺し。
サシが入った美しい肉は柔らかく旨味たっぷり。
連れによれば「牛はもういらない」とのこと。
岩魚の姿焼にも驚いた。
身厚でデカい。
清流でいいものを食べて育ったのであろう。臭みが全くない。
いやー、おみそれしました。こんな立派な食事を出す旅館だったのか。
ちなみにお風呂は源泉の直上につくった「湧き流し」。
酸ヶ湯の硫黄アルカリ系とは違う中性のお湯は鮮烈そのもの。
奥入瀬の渓流に身を委ねているような気分になれます。
