弘前に出張して空いた時間にふらりと寄った、虹のマートという市民市場的な位置付けの買い・食い処にて津軽そばをいただく。
地元製麺会社直営らしい「めんの店 アキモト」で幻のそば440円を注文。「かけでいいですか？」と津軽弁の地元出身らしい女性店員に聞かれ一瞬なんのことかと思ったら、天ぷら等のトッピングメニューも壁にあることに気づく。
「かけ、でお願いします」と返し、水を飲みつつ数分待つ。
出された幻のそばは、刻み葱と刻み海苔が乗ったシンプルな一杯。
麺はそばというより細打ちのうどんにも見える。
ほんのり煮干しが香る汁と一緒にすすると、上品に蕎麦の香りが溢れ美味しい。
買い物途中らしい常連客も次々訪れ、カウンター席でずるずる津軽そばやうどんをすする。
観光客も立ち寄りやすく、そして地元民にも愛されていることがわかる使い勝手の良さそうな店だった。
