青森県八戸市で明治２５年に創業した駅弁屋さんです。
昔は列車での旅行というと、駅弁を食べるのが楽しみでした。ホームで売っている弁当を出発時間を気にしてドキドキしながら買うスリルが一段と駅弁の旨さを高め、車窓を眺めながら食べる喜びがさらに美味しく感じさせてくれました。それが駅構内の弁当販売店で買うようになってから、楽しみが半減してしまったようにも思いますが、それでも列車の中で食べるのは楽しい。
でも、本当に美味しいモノは列車の中で食べなくても、やっぱり美味しいんです。
こちらの弁当屋さんの特徴は、全国の一流レストランとコラボし、監修してもらって一流のお店の味を楽しめる弁当を出していることです。それが、長岡のスーパーでも駅弁祭りのような特設イベントとして販売されていました。
その中から選んだのは、分とく山監修の「金の磯めし あわびかに」（税込み１６４９円）です。あわびとかに、ですよ。不味いわけがない。アワビの殻に柔らかく煮たアワビに上品なタレがしみこみ、その下のご飯にもなじんでいます。これが弁当？ と驚きました。かにの身をほぐして甲羅の中のご飯に載せ、さらにイクラをもってあるかに飯も最高。
価格も贅沢ですが、それ以上に贅沢な味でした。
