海浜幕張駅近くの住宅街は近未来感が漂いまくる独特のエリア。
言ってみたらディズニーランドのような街並みなんです。
下町で生まれ育った僕の個人的感覚からすると、こういう場所で住むのはちょっと恐ろしいなぁと感じるようなエリアなのですが、その住宅街の中に突如ネパール料理店があるんです。
それがこちら。
ランチタイムに行くとメニューはランチビュッフェが基本でした。
普通のビュッフェが1000円。
チャイをつけると1100円。
チキンカレー単品だともうちょっと安いんですが、どうやらビュッフェにあるカレーと同じ様子。
ならばチャイつけてビュッフェにしましょう。
ビュッフェの種類はそれほど多くなく、チキンカレー、ダル、チキンチリ、パコラ、サラダ、チョウミン、ライス、そして揚げタイプのナン的なもの。
これでこの値段はちょっとどうかなと思いながら食べてみると、チキンカレーとダルがちゃんとネパールテイストで好感持てる味。
ネパール人のお店だと、インネパと呼ばれる独特な日本人向けインド「的」カレーとなってしまうことが少なくないものの、ちゃんとネパールの味というのは嬉しいことです。
海浜幕張には駅前にもインドカレービュッフェがありますが、それよりこちらの方が確実に美味しいですよ。
夜にも期待ができるネパール味でした。
そして興味深かったのは、お客さんのほとんどがお婆さんだったこと。
このエリアにおいてどうやってこの客層をつかんだのだろうと考えていたのですが、女性店員さんがそのお婆さん方と実に気さくに会話していたので、このあたりの雰囲気なんだろうなぁと納得。
海浜幕張へ行くとデュワンばかり行ってしまうのですが、たまにはこっちも良いんじゃないかなと思えるお店でした。
