幕張メッセの展示会のときは駅前のプレナまで
行くかマリブダイニングで済ますかだ。今回は
マリブ。２日間に渡ってレモングラスにした。
２日しかないので、日本で代表的なメニューを
選んだ。辛さはあまり関係ないカオマンガイと
辛さに期待するガパオガイ。両者ともにかなり
ジャパナイズされた味。クセはまったくなほど
感じない。パクチーもナンプラーも控えめだ。
カオマンガイのチキンはそれなりにジューシー。
パサつくことはなかった。タレは酸味が強めに
感じたが、チキンに着ければそうでもないし、
とくにライスと一緒にいただくと、その酸味が
適度に感じられて美味しい。ライスもチキンの
風味がちゃんと感じられて良いと思える。
ガパオガイは少しだけピリ辛を感じるが、辛い
ものが好きならまったく物足りない。ガパオの
風味も弱く、タイならではの調味料の香りや味、
風味が全体的に弱い。ガパオガイと思わないで
いただけば悪くないのかも知れない。目玉焼き。
これはしっかり揚げ焼きになっている。黄身が
半熟でいい。
セットのサラダ。タイ料理やインド料理の店で
定番デザートのタピオカミルクは当たり障りの
ない印象だ。
