This Hakata-style Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is located a few minutes walk from the north exit of Nishi-Funabashi Station along the Musashino Line tracks. Along with the Hakata Theater on the other side of the station, Nishi-Funabashi seems to have two Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that mainly serve Hakata cuisine. The most popular dishes are Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) and tetsunabe Gyoza / Dumpling. Of course, we ordered them. Other addition to the popular beef tendon ponzu sauce, we also ordered saury sashimi, fried horse mackerel, and salt-flavored cabbage, and toasted with the restaurant's specialty drink, the komatsuna highball. The food, including the appetizer, was generally delicious. The people who accompanied us all said they were very satisfied. There are four types of motsunabe to choose from: salt, miso, spicy miso, and soy sauce. Our companion, who is a Hakata expert, chose salt, which was a great success. The clear Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) brought together the flavors, and the motsu was not too strong, and was delicious with a firm fat. We enjoyed the rice porridge at the end of the meal. The atmosphere was that of a normal Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), and the call ping-pong machine at the table where we sat was broken. But the ping-pong machine was useless. After all, there was only one waiter in the hall on the second floor, which was crowded with customers. I thought it would be a bit tough, and sure enough, orders were not accepted. I think it's difficult to secure staff, but I think it would be better to have at least two people. The waiter was nice, so I think it would be good if they could handle it without any problems.
