I visited with my son after watching a horse race at Nakayama Racecourse. I made a reservation for 6pm on Tabelog, but it was surprisingly close, about 30 minutes walk from Nakayama Racecourse, so I arrived around 5:20pm. I asked if it was okay to arrive earlier than my reservation time, and they said yes and we were seated. Perhaps because it was early for dinner, we were the only customers in the restaurant. The inside of the store is clean and has an atmosphere that could be used for a casual date. The cook was a Vietnamese man and the clerk was also a Vietnamese woman, but the owner of the restaurant seemed to be Japanese. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Keisei Nishifune Station on the Keisei Main Line, and can also be visited by train. (All prices below include consumption tax) First, order a drink. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer (small bottle of Suntory All Free: 550 yen) to drive home, and my son also ordered a soft drink, coconut milk (350 yen). It was charming that the clerk left only a small bottle of All Free and forgot to take out the glass. We ordered the following dishes. ``Pig ears and papaya salad'' (850 yen) A cold salad made with pig ears, papaya, vermicelli, and vegetables. It was delicious, but it was a cold day in late March when we visited, so the cold papaya salad was a mistake. I think it would be even more delicious if eaten on a hot day. ``Beef and mustard greens stir-fry'' (890 yen) A stir-fry made with beef and mustard greens, onions and fried garlic. It was delicious and went well with the sweet and salty seasoning. ``Stir-fried quail eggs and tamarind'' (550 yen) A dish of stir-fried quail eggs with tamarind sauce. The sourness of the tamarind makes it a good snack. ``Vietnamese ham'' (380 yen) Although Vietnamese ham is called ham, it is actually a paste. It has a fluffy texture and is delicious. I forgot to take a photo of the menu. "Ao Dai Fried Rice" (750 yen) I was hoping for fried rice made with long grain rice (indica rice), but I was disappointed with the rice, which appeared to be short grain rice (Japanese rice). However, the seasoning was good, and the fried rice was delicious with a crunchy texture from the chicken eggs. The bill was 4,320 yen including tax. I don't drink alcohol, but at just over 2,000 yen per person, I think the quality is good value for money. With a wide variety of menu items, it was a restaurant that made me want to come back again.
