I was included in a group social gathering at work. The venue was ``Rojinoya Lantan'' near Funabashi Station. Private room for 8 people, all-you-can-drink course (¥4,500). First of all, as the name suggests, the lighting fixtures inside the store are lantern-like. Of course, it's probably electric rather than gas lights or lamps, but it still has an atmosphere. The staff is also courteous and kind. The food was served efficiently. Ordering drinks is done by scanning a QR code on your smartphone, which has become popular recently. This time, I asked the secretary to take charge. The dishes in the course are also quite unusual. We were having a nice chat, so here are a few from memory, in no particular order... *Appetizer: Quiche? Spanish Omelette? I wonder... It's been a long time since I've had Western-style tamagoyaki. delicious. I also had a baguette spread with liver paste...and before I knew it, I was eating it. *Kiln-roasted edamame has a different aroma than boiled edamame. Even with simple edamame, there are many variations. *Cute little Hamburger size. I think it was a fun addition to the fact that there was only one flag stuck on it. The buns are hard type. The stuff in between is sweet. I was surprised for a moment, but by the middle of the course, I realized it was a fun item. (When I looked into it later, it seems to be liver mousse and strawberry jam...) *At Ajillo tabletop, the raw ingredients were heated in oil in an iron pot. This was my first time using this method as Ajillo. The baguette also had slits in it, so you could sandwich the ingredients into it. I see...the ingredients are delicious, but I really like dipping the bread in hot oil. I wanted a little more bread... *Seared bonito This seems to be the signature dish here. Fragrantly grilled bonito is topped with aromatic vegetables and tobiko. This was also pretty good... The drinks in the course were also substantial. *Rantan Hai is a pitch-black Chuhai (Shochu cocktail). It's not a cola type, but a lemon sour type. What kind of black is it? Given the sweetness, I wonder if it could be squid ink? Well, I was so absorbed in chatting that I didn't get to check...see you next time.
