Goichi-san's Tempura specialty store is famous for its fried chicken and chicken nanban. It's a style that originated in Hakata, where reasonably priced freshly fried, Tempura is served on a tray in front of you. Even so, it's very popular, and even though there's no wait at Goichi-san next door, there are days when there may be as many as 10 people waiting here. I went to Iyotetsu Takashimaya around 5pm and there was no wait, so I went in for the first time. ◆Goten set meal 1200 yen Shrimp, squid, kiss, chicken tempura, egg tempura, 2 vegetables, and kakiage come out almost in the order listed on the menu. That way, you eat Seafood or meat first, and then vegetables last. It's kind of sad that it's the opposite of ``fun comes at the end'' (^◇^;) The unusual broccoli Tempura is interesting, but the taste of Tempura itself is within the expected range. What makes up for this mediocrity is the white rice with unlimited refills and a variety of rice accompaniments. It's made with mustard greens, mentaiko, salmon flakes, rock seaweed, and more, and all of them are of great quality. This is going to eat up the rice (;´д｀) I held back and only ordered one medium-sized refill. Of course, Tempura is also deliciously fried, so it's easy to see why it's popular. Until a few years ago, I think there were stores that had this Tempura lineup for less than 1,000 yen, but now that prices are skyrocketing, 1,200 yen might be a great value in terms of cost performance.
