今治市の今治桟橋地区で古くから確立している「早朝喫茶」というジャンルのお店のひとつ。
開店時刻は5時。お向かいの「ガーネット」の3時半開店には負けるが、文句なしの「早朝喫茶」だ。
このたびは、福山からの朝いちばんのバスを今治桟橋で降りて、このお店を8時40分に訪問。半数弱の客席が埋まり、すっかりこなれた雰囲気が漂う。どうせなら5時に訪問してみたいものだ。
「モーニング」（450円）をいただいた。
トーストは厚切り。
懐かしき輪切りにした茹で卵も付く。
客席はゆったりとしていてくつろげる。
高年男性が主たる客層だろうか。
季節にもよるだろうが、扉が開け放たれていて通気がよく、朝の清々しさをお店の中でも感じることができた。
