Night in Uwajima. At Kisaiya Road, which connects the three shopping streets of Fukuromachi, Shinbashi, and Ebisucho, a Saturday night market is being held for the first time in three years. There are so many people, it seems like the town is coming back to life. Among them, the most popular event is the famous "Turtle Race". The turtles' heated race, coupled with the live commentary, is a huge hit!! It's currently being held!! Excited by the excitement, we head for a restaurant near the shopping street. There is a popular restaurant that serves Local Cuisine and is one of the top 100 restaurants in the area, but tonight we went to a place recommended by a local. That is "Sumibi Yakitori Ikki". We were advised that we should make a reservation, but we went in without an appointment. Luckily, a corner of the counter was available. After that, it seems that they turned away people who didn't make a reservation. Now that we've safely entered the restaurant, let's toast with a draft beer!! "Asahi Super Dry". 420 yen is reasonable (bottles are also 480 yen). The food starts with the "Charcoal Yakiniku (Grilled meat) 5-Skewer Course." It's an selection set, but it has the classic skewers of chicken dish, gizzards, and liver. By the way, the cabbage is just for decoration, so we ordered "salted cabbage" separately. The salads and Teppan-yaki dishes are also very filling and reasonably priced. The "Grilled Parent Chicken with Garlic" is the perfect accompaniment to beer. Wow, all the dishes did not disappoint. I can confidently recommend "Ikki."
