Located in the mountains near the border between Ehime and Kochi prefectures, Shirokawa Town is famous for its processed Japanese chestnuts and pork products. This restaurant is located along National Route 197, which passes through this town. In the Ehime area along Route 197, from the former Hiyoshi Village to Ozu City, there are two restaurants that have been awarded Bib Gourmand in the special edition of the Michelin Guide Hiroshima-Ehime, which was released this spring. It's amazing that there are so few restaurants in such a small rural area. Route 197 may be a hidden gourmet road. For both lunch and dinner, each restaurant seems to offer a course meal starting at around 3,000 yen. This time, I ordered the 3,000 yen course. The course consisted of about 10 dishes. The overall seasoning was impressive, with the amount of salt being exquisite and the dishes being slightly sweet. Many of the dishes made use of seasonal vegetables and seafood, and the combinations of ingredients were a bit unusual, making for a fun meal. I would like to return in a different season. 3,000 yen course: Vinegared dish zucchini and scallops, butterbur simmered with plum, seared grunt, grilled corn tofu, sashimi (yoko, flounder, flying squid), onion simmered Croquette, unagi Bar Sushi, tomato simmered in honey, potato bun (braised pork), mountain vegetable rice, plum and green shiso soup, green plum simmered in honey
