敦賀駅の近くのマンテンホテルに宿泊しましたが、ホテルにサパーレストランが無いので、どこの食堂へ行こうかと駅前をうろうろ。敦賀の駅弁もあり得るなと思い、駅に行きました。駅の右側に待合室兼観光案内所みたいのがあって、さらにその右にお弁当を売っているコーナーがありました。夕方6時ぐらいだったせいか、残念ながら、お弁当はほとんど売り切れでした。残っている三種類ぐらいの弁当の中から、鯖寿司を選びました。1500円ぐらいだったと思いますが、開けてみたら大きい鯖が1匹分、1人前としては十分な量です。酢飯も旨いし、鯖も旨かったですが、流石に全部食べるには、うんざり気味で、２切れぐらい余しました。味はいいですが、お一人様で食べるには少し考えた方がよいかも。２人で別々の弁当を選んで半分こするのがいいですね。今度は是非、色々な弁当の中から選びたいです。「越前ごのみ」か「あなご寿司」を食べてみたい。
