西鉄福岡駅近くの天神エリアにあるこちらのお店。スリランカカレーの名店とのことで、東京にいる時からその名を知っておりました。今回のカレー百名店（対象ジャンルが変わった？）にも選ばれていますね。土曜日の18時半過ぎに1人で訪問です。繁華街のビル5Fにお店はあります。エレベーターを降りると、すぐ店内です。
先客は何組かおりましたが、満席とはなっていませんでした。私は奥のテーブル席へ。カウンター席もありましたが、1人でも空いていたこともあってテーブルに通してもらいました。
さて、オーダーは種類が多くて目移りしつつも、スタンダードなスリランカカレーにしました。
日本で食べるスリランカカレーというとスパイスカレーのように混ぜ合わせたり、鰹系の魚の風味が効いていたり、あるいは辛さが鮮烈だったりとバラエティに富んでいますね。
こちらのカレーは結構ココナッツのパンチが強めのこれまた独自性を感じるカレーでした。もちろん盛りつけ方もなかなか見ないスタイルですね。現地ではポピュラーなのかも知れません。
ココナッツがだいぶ効いたシャバシャバ系カレーということで本当、他ではなかなか見られないタイプですが、私はそれほどココナッツが得意ではないので、という感じではありました。ただ、調味など全体はレベルが高い感じがしますね。好きな方は好きな味、だと思えました。
