Onryori Furukawa is located near Sumiyoshi Shrine, close to Tenjin in Hakata. We serve Japanese Cuisine that can only be enjoyed in Fukuoka, using fresh fish delivered every morning and plenty of seas |
For today's lunch, I went to Furukawa-san, a Japanese Cuisine in Sumiyoshi. I visited the restaurant because I heard that I could try seasonal Hana-sansho pepper that day. I heard it's really expensive. It seems to be a rare ingredient in Fukuoka. Now the feast begins. Appetizer: Tiger prawns, yam jelly, served in an Old Baccarat glass. Bowl: Tiger prawns and mugwort tofu Sashimi: Rockfish, Bigfin reef squid, red tuna and deep-Fried food fatty tuna, and Tempura of young sweetfish. Furukawa-san's specialty dish that looks beautiful. Main dish: Miyazaki beef and Nara Hana-sansho Sukiyaki style. Pate cleanser: Assorted vegetables. Rice: Rice cooked with green asparagus, bamboo shoots, and fresh ginger. Dessert: Matcha ice cream, strawberry, okara biscuit, kashiwamochi. Closing: Matcha tea from Hoshino Tea Farm in Yame. This course includes draft beer and two glasses of cold sake for ¥18,700, and the special price for Hana-sansho. I've been here many times and I'm always impressed by the delicious food, the atmosphere, and the chef's personality. Thank you for the meal.
