福岡へ転勤となり6年が過ぎました。東京への転勤が決まり最後に一番好きなお店と思い「高玉」さんを選びました。福岡へ来て初めてのお客様との食事会で訪問したのが高玉さんで、それ以来幾度か通わせて頂いた思い出のお店です。旧本店が国体道路の拡幅工事で休業となっていたので中洲店に通っていたのですが、この度、リニューアルオープンされたので最後の晩餐としました。旧本店の造りをそのままに風情ある佇まいのお店となっていました。カウンターの特等席であてからスタートし煮魚、その肝を使ったさらに美味しいあて、握りもこれでもかと頂きました。私が高玉を選ぶ理由はシャリが好きな硬さだからです。程よい硬さとすし酢のバランス！最高です。
