地下鉄赤坂駅から徒歩５分ほどの非常に近い距離にある、馬肉を主体とした居酒屋『馬力キング』さんへ。
赤坂エリアの中心である大正通りに面していて、デカデカと「馬肉専門」や、「馬」の字に目が惹かれます。誰がどう見ても馬肉のお店だなと一目でわかるインパクトは、看板として成功でしょう笑
今回は２軒目の利用だったので、馬肉の刺盛りと焼き盛りだけ注文しました。
刺盛りは霜降り、赤身、ふたえご、コウネ、あぶりの５つ。もちろん馬刺しは頼むつもりでしたが、赤字覚悟！って書いてあるとなおさら頼みたくなりますね笑
メニューの最初に各部位の説明が記載されていて、こんなに種類があるんだなと、牛とはまた呼び方が違うんだなと勉強になります。
刺盛りの中では印象的だったのが、霜降りとコウネ。霜降りは皆さんの想像の通りのサシが溶けるような感じで美味でした。コウネはたてがみの部分のようですが、馬脂そのもののようなある程度の食感がありつつ、溶けるような不思議な味わいでした。
焼き盛はカクマク、馬タン、上赤身、中落ち、ギザギザの５種。ギザギザは尻肉の一部分だそう。
どの部位も美味しかったですが、やっぱりタンは馬でも絶対的に美味しかったです。
ドリンクメニューも柑橘系のサワー等もありました。
馬肉を食べたいときの候補の一つになると思われます。
