Just before Saruta Pass, which leads from Munakata City to Kurate Town via Prefectural Route 29, you will find the Global Arena, a comprehensive sports facility. Sakura is a Japanese-style meal restaurant located inside the Global Arena. They offer two types of order buffets at night, 2,500 yen and 3,500 yen (3,800 yen and 4,800 yen if you add all-you-can-drink), but today I went there for lunch with a friend. When you enter the restaurant, there are table seats, and as you go further in, there is a large hearth-style table on the right, and on the left is a tatami room that looks like it can accommodate a party of about 10 people. And behind that is a large tatami room with sunken kotatsu tables lined up. Since there were only five of us this time, we thought they could accommodate us without a reservation, but we were shown to a table seat for eight people with a sunken kotatsu. Our prediction was correct ◎ We ordered Steak set for 1,500 yen. Steak set that came on a tray was luxurious for 1,500 yen. Steak, Small dish, chawanmushi, soup, rice, and pickles. After the meal, we had soy milk and a drink (choice of hot coffee, orange juice, or mountain grape juice). Apparently you can have second helpings of rice, but I had plans to have tea at home afterwards, so although I was tempted, I passed. Steak, eaten with ponzu sauce and grated daikon radish, was refreshing, and although the meat was a little tough, it was delicious for someone who doesn't like greasy food. The soy milk had a rich cream cheese flavor that was just to my liking. I thought about taking it home as a souvenir, but I had to hold off since I had another appointment. After having lunch here, I'm curious about the dinner order buffet. I wonder if they could do the next banquet here?
