Furusenba-cho, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is open until 4am. The restaurant is located in a deep area, one back street away from the main street of Konyamachi. They focus on Seafood and have a fish tank. However, they also have a wide variety of other menu items. Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), Hot Pot, pork trotters and other Meat Dishes are also popular. This time we went for after-party. I was driving so I had non-alcoholic drinks. I ordered ginger ale. The appetizer was a burdock and radish salad. With sesame dressing. For the dishes, we ordered Gyoza / Dumpling, shrimp dumplings and meat tofu teppanyaki. Gyoza / Dumpling. Strong chive flavor, not much meat. Bite-sized Gyoza / Dumpling. Shrimp dumplings. Crispy on the outside, moist inside. A bit like a snack. Meat tofu teppanyaki. This is seriously delicious. Sweet and spicy stewed meat with deep-fried tofu. They give you a lot of broth, so it soaks into the deep-fried tofu. You'll want rice. Next time, maybe fish. I'd like to try Hot Pot too.
