黒崎にスカーレットというら素晴らしいバーがあるとは聞いていたが、ここまでとは。開業何年目かは存じないが風格が備わり、しかし新しいセンスも感じるオーセンティックバー。
新型コロナ禍の今では考えられないが、大人数で訪問したこともあり、1杯目は乾杯できるようシャンパーニュを、同行者が差し入れてくださった。シャンパーニュの立ち上がる泡。ひとつひとつになにが詰まっているんだっけ。ビール、ワイン、焼酎と無数の酒があるが、1番好きなのはシャンパーニュかもしれない。まったく詳しくはないけれど。
2杯目はカクテル。いつものサイドカー。バーで面倒くさい注文をすることでおなじみ現場のゆっき〜氏からも「あんたの注文もたいがいマニアックやね」と言われる僕だがここではクラシカルに攻める。
ほんとうは僕も、ここらでカウンターに移動したかったけど、関西の大先輩と久しぶりの再会を果たし、ついトークが弾んでしまった。でもテーブル席にはテーブル席の良さあり、だった。
３杯目はウイスキーのストレート。あまりに暗くてただでさえ写真の腕がない僕にはお手上げだが、「最高のバー」だと、写真ではなくシンプルな5文字で伝えたい。
