小倉南方という、名前も住所も北区だか南区だか紛らわしい場所(正解は小倉北区)に誕生したうなぎの店。店はオシャレ系。うな重\1,500＋吸い物漬物セット\300を注文。「開店まもないのでサービス」ですとうなぎポン酢のような突き出しもいただいた。メニューにも「おろしポン酢」があったが同じ仕様だろうか。酒のツマミには良いが米との相性はどうなんだろうか。
うな重についてはセパレートではなく盛って出てくるタイプで安心。うなぎはかなり柔らかくフックラ。ただ妙にパリっとしていて、ひょっとしたらバーナーで表面炙ったか？タレは粘度は一般的だが味がややアッサリで、ひょっとしたら継ぎ足しのタレがまだまだ鰻の脂とエキスが染みわたっていないからかも。
ま、値段が安いのでそこまで文句はないかな。泥臭さもないし悪い印象はない。
店内の雰囲気のとおり接客は良くて、会計時には「まだオープンしたばかりで不慣れですが、どうぞご贔屓に」とご挨拶された。といっても行動範囲外でなかなか再訪しないエリアで、贔屓にできるかはわからないがとりあえず食べログで紹介しておく。
