I went to Rokumon for business. After finishing some errands, I decided to go to Shanghai Shuya on Meiji Street for lunch. The restaurant is on the 6th floor of a building, but there is a lunch sign posted on the street. Today's lunch is "Mapo tofu and vegetable salad". let's go. ( ̄ー ̄) When you go up in the elevator, you are already inside the store. It looks like the restaurant is on the left and the private room is on the right. Since I was visiting alone, I naturally went to the restaurant on the left. Visiting time is 11:45. The number of customers increased later, but at this time there was only one group of customers. There are counter seats, but we were told to sit at any of the six tables. I actually wanted to choose a place with a Chinese-style revolving table, but it was for 6 people... As expected, I hesitated and chose a four-person seat with a white tablecloth. There are clear vinyl partitions between each table to prevent the spread of coronavirus, but it feels cheap and reminds me of a field hospital. I feel a little uncomfortable about the gap between it and the expensive-looking table. When I took my seat and looked at the menu that was brought to me, I saw that there was quite a lot of variety. I was confused, but I chose ``Fried noodles (Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) with gomoku ankake), 700 yen, included''. I would like to enjoy the view from the 6th floor from where I sit, but the window is a little high so I can't enjoy the view outside. Since this is an adult male, I think it's best not to expect too much of a view. (Maybe it depends on where you sit?) "Fried noodles" were served soon. It's a unique arrangement with gomoku bean paste on one side. I'll try it. Piping hot gomoku bean paste. The texture of the grilled and crispy noodles is reminiscent of ``Hita Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles).'' The sticky bean paste and the thickness and texture of the root of the Chinese cabbage are pleasant. There's a decent amount of thick pork in it, but it's a little disappointing that there's only one plump shrimp. In terms of volume, it's about 7-8 minutes deep. There is also a menu called "Chinese noodles & half fried rice (950 yen)", so I feel like it would be even more convenient if half fried rice could be added to all items. It was delicious. Thanks for the meal.
