久しぶりの秋月観光。
仕事以外でこの辺に来るのはずいぶん久しぶりです。
今回のお目当ては秋月エリアの有名店、天然純国産本葛の製造専門店『廣久葛本舗』さんです。
文政2年(1819年)創業の超老舗で伝統的な製法で作る本葛製品や本葛を使った葛餅等が有名なお店ですが、店内のイートインスペースで葛餅などを頂くこともできます。
お店自体も築260年の風情溢れる古商家で販売スペースも昔の風情が漂っています。
イートインスペースの甘味処「葛茶房 葛の花」は４人掛けテーブルが３つなので混み合う時は待ちが必至です。
メニューは葛餅、葛きり、葛きりぜんざい、葛湯、葛そうめんがありますが、今回は夏限定の冷やし葛もちを注文。
冷やし葛もちは平たいお皿に水で冷やした葛もちが浮かんでおり、それを別皿の黒蜜ときな粉につけて食べるスタイル。
高菜漬が箸休めに付いてます。
もともと葛は味というよりは食感を楽しむものだと思ってますが、冷たい水で締められているので結構もっちりとした食感。常温の葛もちよりも少し硬めの食感です。
程よい甘さの黒蜜ときな粉にまぶして頂くと甘さともちもち食感、きな粉の風味で江戸時代からの和の風情を強く感じることが出来ました。
