We look forward to serving you bread made with natural yeast in Akizuki, a popular tourist spot!
Tsuki no Toge uses natural yeast made from grains. The natural yeast is left to mature overnight at a constant temperature to create a starter. The dough is then kneaded with the natural yeast and lef |
2/10 (Sat) Crossing the bridge from Honshu, we went on a drive around Fukuoka Prefecture to try different breads! Shop No. 8 visited: "Tsuki no Toge" in Akizuki, Asakura City. This is a bread shop selling natural yeast bread! Curry bread, grape bread, cream bread, cheese bread, and melon bread seem to be especially popular. There were crowds of people inside and outside the shop. Freshly baked bread was lined up one after another inside the shop. My aim was curry bread and grape bread. The curry bread had just been put on the shelves! Lucky! As for the grape bread, when I entered the shop, there was only one left... Oh, it was taken right in front of me (^-^;) I asked when the next grape bread would be ready, and was told that it would be ready in 7 minutes. It was a totally acceptable wait time! I paid for the curry bread first and waited inside the shop for the grape bread to be baked. A few customers who came after me were asking when the grape bread was done, just like me. It seems that grape bread is popular after all. As soon as the grape bread was done, we were told, "Please take your turn, customers who are waiting," so we put the grape bread on the tray and paid. I was glad that I was able to get the two kinds of bread I wanted (^-^) I ate the bread I got on 2/29 (Thurs). Curry bread. It is filled with plenty of spicy curry made with minced meat. They fry the onions thoroughly and also use yogurt. They simmer it for two days. You can feel the attention to detail. The taste is certainly undeniably delicious. It has a deep umami flavor with a spicy and fruity taste at the same time. The outside of the bread dough is crispy and fragrant, and it's so delicious that you can't stop eating it. Grape bread. This one was also too delicious to be beat. The name of this bread is true to its name, and when you see the cross section, you'll be surprised at how full of grapes it is. Are you eating grapes or bread? Not only is it full of grape pulp, but the bread dough that encases it has a soft texture and a wonderful, fluffy fragrance. If you're a grape bun fan, you should definitely try this shop's grape bun at least once. (10th photo) Illustration of the purchased item
