I visited with my family on a Friday night. The Onsen Kawasemi is located in Iizaka Onsen, one of the three great hot springs in Oshu, along with Naruko Onsen and Akiu Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture. It is a culinary inn where you can enjoy unique Kawasemi-style Japanese Cuisine that you can't find anywhere else. It seems that Kawasemi's style is not to "stay at Ryokan and eat a meal," but to "go out for a night to eat a meal." They also have a monthly special "Ginmi Tokusen" that they are particular about. This was the first time I booked for one night and two meals. The menu for this day was: ・Fruit tomato and mozzarella with watercress sauce ・Ten-mame mousse ・Sweetfish-grilled eggplant and tofu bowl ・Minazuki assortment ・Sashimi ・White asparagus, black abalone and Sanriku sweetfish fish with caviar cream ・Charbroiled Sendai beef with green tomato salsa ・Sweetfish rice ・Melon soup and banana bavarois In conclusion, it was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I was impressed with everything from the first dish to the last dessert. All the dishes were excellent, with a focus on carefully selected ingredients, and were made with careful consideration of the taste, texture, temperature, color, and tableware, as well as the connections, balance, and addition and subtraction of each ingredient. This month's special dish was a truly luxurious one, with black abalone and sweetfish dipped in caviar cream. As it was served in the room, it was no problem even if you had small children. Breakfast was also absolutely wonderful.
