道路沿いに建つ「わっぱ飯」の看板が気になってて、以前に行ってみたら「そばさだ」に行ってしまったことがあった。数年ぶりでリベンジ。栄川酒造に行く途中に在りました。昼の2時チョイ過ぎに到着。
外観はペンション風で店内も落ち着いた雰囲気。店内は座敷席とテーブル席に分かれていて、マダムが「テーブル席でお願いします」とのことで窓際のテーブル席に。メニューはわっぱ飯より洋食やカレーがメーンで値段は全体的に高めです。「しらすのわっぱ飯」と「牛メンチカツカレー」を注文。
「しらすのわっぱ飯」はイメージしてたものとは違い、蒸したものではなく曲げわっぱにご飯を盛りつけた感じ。会津若松市の有名店のとは別ものです。シラスに味がほとんどないので載ってた梅干しと食べるがさっぱり感だけ。みそ汁ではなく、会津名物のこずゆが付くが味わいもどこかものたりない。
「牛メンチカツカレー」はビジュアルも好く、味わいも本格派且つ個性的でシェフの腕の良さを感じます。しらすのわっぱ飯はチョッと残念だったがカレー大満足。コーヒーとぜんざいがセルフで、食後の〆にぜんざいを食べようと思ってたら、トイレから帰ると食器はすっかり片付けられてました（笑）
