41th. Anniversary 3.25 41st Anniversary Food Tour Part 3 On the second night in Yanagase, Gifu City, we visited Kamoyasu, a duck restaurant located right in front of Kogane Shrine. ○ Charcoal Grilled skewer duck meatballs (with cartilage) 380 yen x 2 pieces ○ Charcoal grilled duck heart 1 piece 380 yen ○ Charcoal grilled duck gizzard 1 piece 380 yen ○ 5 duck Gyoza / Dumpling 680 yen ○ Meat-wrapped mushroom skewer 1 piece 420 yen ○Homemade Karasumi 1,480 yen ○Draft beer 540 yen x 2 ○House wine red (Cabernet + Syrah) Australia 650 yen x 2 ○Junmaishu/Hekiten/Omachi (Okayama Prefecture) 550 yen 8,200 yen for two people including Tabelog There are counter seats on the first floor, but I was guided to a private room on the second floor. All of the part-time staff are always smiling and I am impressed by their prompt and courteous customer service. My family's favorite is the charcoal-grilled skewered duck meatballs with duck cartilage, which has a pleasant crunchy texture. My favorites were the duck Gyoza / Dumpling filled with ground duck meat and the homemade karasumi. We have a total of 47 types of Japanese sake, one bottle each from 47 prefectures across Japan, and we enjoyed chilled Junmai Sake Hekiten brewed in Sakamaio-cho, Okayama Prefecture. They also have several types of red and white wine, and I ordered the red house wine to go with the duck dish, but it was a happy miscalculation to call it house wine, and it was of high quality. The flavor is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, but the tannins are gentler and lighter. A blend of Cabernet Franc and spicy Syrah. Paired with duck meat, which is lighter than beef but has sweeter fat than chicken. The Australian wine was excellent, and the synergistic effect of the two doubles the umami. At the time of checkout, I told the owner what I thought about the house wine (red) that went well with the duck dish, and he was able to tell me how he chose this wine. I heard that the owner has experience working in an Italian Cuisine Restaurants and is also a certified sommelier.
