GWに家内と岐阜県に一泊旅行してきました。
東海北陸道の美濃インターをおりて一番近くにある道の駅「にわか茶屋」に立ち寄りました。
岐阜県の名産をいろいろと置いておられて、見て回っていて楽しいですね。
その敷地内に「きぬや美濃店」という屋台のようなお店があります。
飛騨牛コロッケや五平餅、フランクフルト、やきそば、揚げたこ焼き等、かなりの種類の商品を
お店の方二人で作っては売りさばいておられ、とても忙しそうです。
ちょうど今、NHK朝の連ドラの「半分、青い」が岐阜県を舞台に物語が進んでいますが、
その中で五平餅が美味しそうに紹介されています。
そんなこともあって、ある意味、今が旬の五平餅200円をいただくことにしました。
つぶしたご飯を割り箸に平たく突き刺し、表面を軽く焼いてから、くるみだれをたっぷりつけたものですが、
連ドラで見る五平餅よりは色はあまり黒っぽくはありません。
タレが少なめなのか、焼きがあまいのか。
早速、車の中でかぶりつきましたが、表面の香ばしさとタレの甘さが素朴な美味しさです。
個人的にはもう少しタレの味が強いほうが好きなんですが、これはこれでいいものです。
そもそも五平餅は江戸時代から伝わる木曽地方の食べ物だそうで、
米と味噌からできていることもあり、ほとんど食べたことがないのになぜか懐かしい気持ちになります。
もっと全国区の食べ物になってもいいのになと思うのは、私だけでしょうか。
このあと、うだつの町並みを見て歩いてから、郡上八幡に向かいました。
