I went to Lao Sichuan in Kusunoki-cho, Nishi-ku. Smoking is prohibited inside the restaurant, but there is a smoking area right at the entrance. So, the office workers were taking a smoke break after their meal. I don't like it. The restaurant only has table seats, so I was shown to a vacant table for six people. It's spacious, but I feel sorry for them. I ordered the Chinjao Pork Set Meal (880 yen) from the lunch menu. Grandpa, you just ate Chinjao, didn't you? I like it as a palate cleanser, so I guess it can't be helped. It arrived about 5 minutes after I ordered, and it was served so quickly that I wondered if they knew I was going to order it. I think the Chinjao was mostly green peppers. When I tried it, the oyster flavor was strong, but not too strong, and the seasoning was just right. The side dish was bang bang chicken. It was a spicy sauce, but it had a good taste, and it was delicious with just this. The rice was a little hard, but tolerable, and the egg soup was Chinese! I was glad to be able to taste it. There was no almond jelly for dessert, but self-service coffee was included after the meal. It was a lunch that allowed me to enjoy a full Chinese meal, but the seasoning was also carefully thought out so that it wouldn't overwhelm me in the afternoon.
