いちごのあんバターどら焼き（450円）
ランチ後の甘味を求めて訪問。各種どら焼きやかりんとう饅頭、桜餅、豆大福、みたらし団子、おはぎなどの和菓子や、レモンケーキやラスクなどの洋菓子の、和洋折衷の彩り豊かな菓子類が所狭しと陳列られている中、レジ横のカウンターにずらっと並ぶいちご大福と、更にその横に並ぶいちごのあんバターどら焼きの堂々とした姿に一瞬にして目を奪われる。お腹の空き具合を考慮すると両方は難しく、どちらにするか思案した結果、いちごのあんバターどら焼きを選択してお願いする。あんバター好きとしては譲れない。しかも期間限定。
小振りな生地に、広島県産の大納言と北海道産のバターとともに旬のいちごを４つも携えており、まずはしっとりとした口当たりの生地に柔らかな甘味の餡子といちごの酸味を味わい、次いで時間差でくるバターのコクと甘味と旨味を味わう。そしてこれらの融合が抜群にマッチして堪らなく旨い。
しっかりボリュームもあるがとても食べ易く、あっという間に完食。もうなくなってしまったという少し残念な気持ちと、おいしさに心を満たされた気持ちが交錯する。
