This cheap pub is located about a minute's walk from Hondori Station. Today was the first day of my 3-day, 2-night business trip to Hiroshima and Yamaguchi, and after successfully completing my scheduled meeting in Kure in the afternoon, I took a local bus and arrived in Hiroshima in the evening. First, I checked into the business hotel I had reserved, put my luggage away, and headed straight for this restaurant, which I had picked up on Tabelog beforehand. I thought it would be perfect for my heavy drinker colleague, as it offered All-you-can-drink course (for drinks only). Unfortunately, the weather was bad today, and it was snowing heavily, so we headed to the restaurant and arrived just before 5:30 p.m. There were not many customers in the restaurant yet, and we were shown to a table seated on a board on top of a beer case on the left side. First, we chose the 3-hour all-you-can-drink option (1,800 yen), and after taking measures to deal with my heavy drinker colleague, we ordered a Kaku Highball for my colleague and a plum wine soda for a toast. As for food, as a service for coming to the restaurant in bad weather, they offered a free oden topping of your choice, Other my colleague ordered daikon radish and I ordered egg. After carefully checking the menu, the two of us ordered Hiroshima greens (290 yen), stewed beef tendons (490 yen), salt-grilled chicken neck (490 yen), and grilled chicken thighs with sauce (390 yen). Once we ordered the oden, Hiroshima greens, and stewed beef tendons, they arrived without much waiting. The stewed beef tendons, which were stewed slowly with a sweet and spicy flavor, were rich in flavor but delicious with plenty of beef tendons. I love salt-grilled chicken neck and grilled chicken thighs with sauce, and both were chewy and voluminous, so I was more than satisfied. After that, we ordered the super-classic "AKAMARU" fried chicken (large: 720 yen) and half a potato fry (500g: 490 yen), and were surprised at how much more filling they were than we expected. The deep fried chicken came out in a huge pile, crispy on the outside, but moist and juicy on the inside. The fries were nothing special, but the amount was enough to satisfy. These two dishes really filled me up, and I didn't need to order anything else on the menu. The bill came to just under 3,600 yen per person, and with the 3-hour all-you-can-drink option, it was very reasonable. If you want to eat and drink cheaply after work, this is a great place to go.
