広島市電の中電前駅から東へ一本道を入ったところにレトロな建物のカレーショップがあります。「nandi」さんです。
ゆったり小さめの音でレゲエが流れ、外は雨。なんとも言えない非日常感が落ち着きます。マスター1人で切り盛りする姿も渋い。
注文したのは、極辛カレーの「ナンディ」です。出てきたカレーを見て、これまでのカレーの概念が崩れました。まるで、スープです。茶色いスープにごろっとした鶏肉が入ってます。
スプーンで掬って口へ。うーん、カレーです。そんなに辛さは感じませんが、食べ進むにつれて額から汗が噴き出します。やっぱり辛いんですね。
アンニュイな雰囲気で美味しいカレーがいただけました。
