"Bistro Cochon d'or" is a 7-minute walk from the Hiroshima Electric Railway Chuden-mae stop. Opened in 2016, a one-off operation by the owner. The building is located in a recessed area on the first floor of an apartment building with light gray fire-resistant tiles and is not easily recognized. There is a wooden swinging door in the back. The interior of the restaurant has white walls, dark brown blinds on the glass windows, a dark brown wooden counter and table set, and a dark blue kitchen side wall and hanging wall above the counter, creating a relaxing space with a calm atmosphere. BGM is Western music. There are 20 seats in total: 6 at the counter, 3 at 4 tables, and 1 at 2 tables. I asked for Bistro lunch (2,750 yen including tax) + an upgrade to the special menu ``beef cheek stew in red wine'' (770 yen including tax), and the bill was 3,520 yen. Dishes ① Herb leaf (from Takakake Farm, Mihara, Hiroshima Prefecture) salad, lotus root, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, burdock, red paprika, yellow paprika, onion, carrot rappe, sardine escabeche ② Beef cheek stew in red wine, fava beans & rape blossoms & ingen beans & shunji & potato paste ③ Homemade bread ④ Homemade vanilla & star anise Ice cream Takakake Farm is run by an independent owner from Kajitani Farm, and cultivates high-quality herbs. This herb leaf salad is hearty and good. However, the sardine escabeche didn't suit me. It's weird that I'm extremely sensitive to fish smells. On the other hand, the beef cheek braised in red wine was hearty and soft, making it an appealing dish. The vegetables that came with the dish were varied and tasted good. It was a feast.
