We arrived around 10:30pm on a weekday, and there were about three other groups of customers in the restaurant. Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) serving Hiroshima cuisine is located on the north side of Hiroshima Station, and last order are taken at midnight, a convenient opening time for after a baseball game. We ordered bottled beer, Sanfrecce Highball (highball with grapes added), potato shochu, gansu, small sardine tempura, Okonomiyaki-style Tempura, smoked Hiroshima red chicken, Oyster butter Teppan-yaki, tofu, octopus and wasabi, and other drinks, all of which were cheap, coming in at less than 4,000 yen per person. Items worth mentioning in particular are as follows: Sanfrecce Highball It's just a highball with grapes added, but it goes surprisingly well with the grape juice, and the added sweetness makes it much easier to drink Gansu It's a deep-fried fish paste, similar to satsumaage, and is undoubtedly delicious. When combined with shichimi mayonnaise, it adds richness and spiciness. Oyster Teppan-yaki The flavor and richness of the butter is transferred to Oyster, and the bitterness is complemented by a rich umami flavor. It's a great dish that goes well with rice. Takowasa (octopus and wasabi) It's apparently homemade, but they use large octopus, and the wasabi is spicy and spicy. It's topped with seaweed, so you can see that they've put a lot of care into it. I can't believe it, but this might be the best takowasa I've ever eaten.
