広島駅近くで、川沿いの目立たない場所にあるカウンターのみの豚骨ラーメンのお店です。平日の昼11時50分ごろ伺いましたが、8席の定員を超える人数の行列があったため断念。夜19時ご過ぎに改めて伺うと行列なし・先客1名のみですぐに着席できましたが、程なくグループがやってきて満席に。まさに人気店です。
メニューは、らーめん（900円）、替え玉（150円）、明太ごはん（300円）、ごはん（150円）、ビールのみなので、主要メニューはラーメンのみです。トッピングも選択できず、ラーメンは基本設定しか注文できません。なかなか強気なお店ですが、開店したころからこのストロングスタイルを貫いている潔いお店でもあります。
ラーメンは、九州系の豚骨スープの中ではマイルドな方と思いますが、細いストレート麺がよく絡みます。特筆すべきは柔らかく煮込まれた角煮と、しっかり味が染み込んでいて絶妙な半熟の煮卵。トッピングがあれば追加したいくらいの食べ応えですが、増量できないのがこのお店の掟。でも、この量が一番バランスが良いのだろうとも思います。
また、ラーメンを頼むと必ず別皿で付いてくるのが高菜。小皿に少しだけではなく、深さのある鉢にそこそこの量が入っています。辛すぎず、それでいて適度にラー油が効いていて、ラーメンというよりは、ご飯と合わせたくなる一品です。何とかご飯を我慢してラーメンのみで済ませましたが、以前から変わらず人気店なのが伺えます。
昼ごはん時は厳しいので、行くなら夜。でも、早じまいすることも結構あるように思うので、19時ごろに開いていたら迷わず入りたいお店です。
