A hidden okonomiyaki and Teppan-yaki restaurant behind Hiroshima Station that only those in the know know about! ! !
Okonomiyaki/ Teppan-yaki restaurant Okonomiyaki is located in Hikari-cho, Higashi-ku, Hiroshima City, near Hiroshima Station. After training at a famous Hiroshima okonomiyaki restaurant, I was finally |
During lunch time on Friday, I headed to an okonomiyaki restaurant near my office that I had never visited before. As soon as you enter the store, you will see a horizontal iron plate with 5 chairs, and if you look into the back right of the long and narrow store, you will see 3 tables that can seat 4 people. Since I was alone, I was guided to the edge of the iron plate seat. I was given the lunch menu and explained, ``Since it's Friday, we have a 100 yen discount on the Powerful Yaki, and we also have AB sets.'' Hmm? There's no Nikutama soba on this menu by default...but of course there is. ``Today's special Powerful Yaki has hormones, garlic, and perilla...well, it's Friday and I'm wearing a mask, so I'll eat some garlic.'' So I ordered the Powerful Yaki with chili pepper noodles. You can start cooking right in front of your eyes. First, grind the dough... "Eh!? It's so small!" Yes, the dough is about 15cm in diameter Σ( ̄□ ̄|||) I sprinkled fish meal on it and put coarsely cut cabbage on top, but the cabbage It's a bit small ((+_+)) And there's a sorry amount of bean sprouts and two slices of pork belly... I flip it over right away, but the dough is so small that it doesn't function as a lid. Leave it almost undisturbed, then remove it from the bag and layer it on top of the chili noodles that have been formed into a circle. It feels like the main body of vegetables etc. is on top of the noodles. The two pieces that were fried at the same time as mine were double chili pepper noodles, so the balance seemed even worse (lol).Next, we prepared the eggs, but at this restaurant, we cracked the eggs in a bowl and carefully loosened them with chopsticks. It was a slightly unusual method of making it with beaten eggs. Spread a generous amount of Otafuku sauce, sprinkle with pepper, green seaweed, and sesame seeds, and it's done...It's about 3.5cm thick, which is decent, but it's a very minimal okonomiyaki. Well, let's have it. ``Now that I think about it, I didn't see hormones, garlic, and perilla leaves...Maybe they don't have any in them?'' I thought to myself as I ate it and could smell the garlic. It doesn't smell like garlic powder, so I guess it's in there. As I continued to eat, perilla leaves also came out. Okonomiyaki with perilla leaves is delicious⤴ I also get a hint of miso in the middle...Maybe it's hormones, but I couldn't tell from the texture. The customer who came in later seemed to have ordered Powerful Yaki, so I watched the cooking process while eating, and there were only 3 small offal and 2 shiso leaves (^^; I didn't press them much, so I watched the cooking process). The finish was a little loose and difficult to eat with a trowel. Although the taste was quite good, the finish and volume were a bit disappointing. By the way, the noodles are not chili pepper noodles by default, but there were reviews in the past that called them "bag noodles". He was boiling raw noodles. After eating, I paid the bill... I thought to myself, "It's usually 1000 yen, but since I got 100 yen off, it's 900 yen," and it turned out to be 990 yen including tax (゚д゚) )! Hi, it's my fault for not reading the small print on the menu (everything is small anyway) Thank you for the meal. I complained about the "volume..." but now I say it's just right. …(´;ω;`)
