広島駅周辺の繁華街も見ておこうと「エキニシ」というエリアにやってきた。かなりの酒場密集地で楽しそうではあるが、平均年齢は若め。喫煙している人も多め。
その中でも人気だという「バルタン本店」に入ってみた。広島で勢いのある外食グループだそうだ。たまたまカウンターに座れたが、あとから入ってきた人は断られていたのでラッキーだった。
広島の地酒があったので注文。お安いなと思ったら、冷蔵と常温で分けているようで、常温のもののみ安めだった。「大号令」と「賀茂金秀」をいただいた。大号令は常温が合うお酒だった。
注文したのは前日に食べておいしかった「雲丹クレソン」。とはいえこちらは別物だった。十分おいしかったのだけれど、前日とは雲丹の質がちがった。最初に良いものを食べすぎて後悔するパターン。
あとは「レアな鯵フライ」。たっぷりタルタルソースでおいしかった。
いわゆる勢いのある外食店の雰囲気そのままのお店だった。働いている人が楽しそうなお店は良い店だと思う。
