Since I had some free time while in Hiroshima, I visited Itsukushima Shrine for the first time. As I slowly made my way home, I came across a Momiji Manju shop that received a high Tabelog score: Iwamura Momiji Shop. The automated Momiji Manju factory can be viewed through a glass shop window. It was my first time to experience freshly baked Momiji Manju, which can be sold individually with strained bean paste for ¥120. Hot tea was also self-service, and I was able to sit and eat it in the rest area across the road. It was so delicious that it was so popular!
